Tramlines 2010

Tramlines - Sheffield's music festival is back for it's second year 23rd-25th July.

For those that don't know Tramlines is an urban festival spread across 50 venues and 3 outdoors stages in the steel city and the whole event is free.

Last year saw over 35,000 people attend the festival and organisers are hoping to double that this year! Acts including: Simian Mobile Disco, Mystery Jets, Annie Mac & Blood Red Shoes will be featuring alongside Sheffield's own Toddla T, 65 Days of Static, Joe Carnall & The Book Club & Lords of Flatbush plus many, many more for the most up-to-date list check out the Facebook page here.

Xrayhorse Music will be putting on a showcase of hand picked amazing unsigned bands from Sheffield and Leeds as we curate the whole of Saturday night at the intimate West End venue as part of the festival.

Expect this xray party to include fizzy-punk upstarts ‘Seize the Chair’, scuzzy jittery-drone rock from local legion ‘Roman Android’, psychedelic blues rock from ‘Black Cat White Cat’, high fidelity noise from Leeds bands ‘Wot Gorrila?’ and ‘These Monsters’, some tainted sonics from ‘Electric Tape Recorder’, and some real-deal audio punching from festival favourites ‘The Gentlemen’.

Should be one hell of a show. Hope to see you at the West End or at other sites over the weekend

It's Been A While

Hello Again,

So its been a long time since my last post, i have been a busy boy since then.
I've got myself a new laptop, a new mixer, the full version of Traktor pro, put on another show at the Harley as part of Xray Horse and been working hard in my day job!

I have had an operation this week, so I've got some time off work. I will be updating the blog over the next few days with the intention of updating on a more regular basis

Im currently working on a new mix, a bootleg remix and of course hammering the Xray Horse promo.

check back for more posts and music very soon!

Xray Horse 1st Birthday and Acoutic Shave Magazine Launch Party

Xray Horse celebrated its 1st birthday and the launch of The Acoustic Shave magazine with a move to The Harley on 20th February.

The Line up was:

Roman Android
Kicked things off with a tight, up-tempo set showing musical maturity beyond their years. One to watch for the future.

Nephu Huzzband
Mixing punk spirit with a clever art rock style and pounding pace. I didn’t get to see much of the set as I was taking cash and stamping hands on the door! Sorry boys, nice t-shirt though!

Elephant Keys
Formerly The Dodgems, this Sheffield based 3 piece played a confident well rehearsed set of Indie Pop with Tom G switching between keys and strings. Great stuff from a band that doesn’t take themselves too seriously and seemed to enjoy themselves as much as the crowd watching them. Catch them on BBC Radio Sheffield’s Raw Talent show on 16th March.

The Legend of the 7 Black Tentacles
Xray favourites delivered again! As the staff frantically re-set the stage to accommodate the experimental hip hop 8 piece. The crowd gathered with an excited anticipation. From the epic intro to the xray horse dedicated hip hop medley all 8 members were on top form. Simply awesome!

Baron Von Badd
7BT plate spinner returned to play a well mixed selection of hip hop that got people dancing after the bands had finished and set the tone for the remainder of the night.

Xray DJ’s

More dance floor distortion from the record bags and minds of Tom H (ex Dead Delta) Emil K (Hooded Greek) and myself (LU:CY?)

Decked Out 10th Anniversery

WOW What a night!
Erol Alkan and Xavier De Rosnay (1/2 of Justice) headlining in the main room! simply spectacular, When Erol played Roaxanne by The Police everyone was singing along - even he had stopped the track just before the chorus dropped!

Big shout to Aeroplane for a weird but wonderful set a nice fun tracklist before everybody crammed into the Main room for two of the biggest names in electronica to smash the Coronet

Coronet is a great location, an old theatre that has been converted into a club much in the Koko mould, with two smaller more initmate room above
